Collection: Te Haka a te Raumati
In celebration of Te Matatini 2025 we are proud to launch our limited edition candles Te Haka a te Raumati.
Pareārohi and Tānerore are children of the sun (Tamanuiterā) and the summer maiden (Hineraumati).
Both are personified in the heatwaves seen shimmering in Summer; Pareārohi above the trees and Tānerore above the earth.
This phenomenon is the origin of the upraised, quivering hands of a female and the outstretched, quivering hands of a male during the performance of haka.
